AC Shadows Unveils Unexpected AoT Event for Holiday Season

In a surprising partnership that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Uncovered

According to the formal announcement, "A strange meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of banned ceremonies and fearsome transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a clandestine group.

The mission concentrates on "strange tests and a monstrous enemy" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Changes

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Exclusive weapons
• Survey Corps steed

Latest Free Story Content

This update also brings the game's latest free story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
