The UK Prime Minister to Urge Partner Nations on Long-Range Missiles for Ukraine at London Conference

The UK Prime Minister plans to press supporting countries to deliver Ukraine with further advanced missile systems to strike Moscow's positions during a meeting in London on Friday.

The prime minister will host Ukraine's leader the Ukrainian head of state alongside what's known as "alliance of supportive nations", consisting of more than 20 of Kyiv's partners who have pledged to offer Kyiv defense assurances once a ceasefire is negotiated.

Zelensky has been pleading for an extended period for additional advanced missile technology from allied countries, a move that Moscow has warned would intensify the war.

The Ukrainian president is travelling from Belgium, where he held talks with European representatives on yesterday requesting financial support.

"The sole individual participating in the ongoing war who declines to stop the war is the Russian leader," the Prime Minister remarked.

Britain's leader will also reveal that 100 extra anti-aircraft missiles will be supplied to Ukraine sooner than scheduled, as specified in a substantial financial arrangement reached between Britain and Ukraine in March.

Diplomatic Momentum

The Ukrainian president comes after two diplomatic wins in recent days: Washington's action to enact further sanctions against Russia, and the European Union agreeing to finance a Ukrainian budget hole.

The Prime Minister is seeking to sustain the momentum by increasing the pressure on Russia to discuss an end to the hostilities.

Britain's leader will encourage leaders to expand the supply of long-range weapons following a successful operation on a chemical plant in the Bryansk region, Russia, using British-supplied missile systems.

"And his brutal strikes on small children in a daycare this week make that perfectly obvious," he continued.

Two children were included in no fewer than seven killed in multiple Moscow's attacks on Ukrainian territory, which hit a nursery in the second biggest city Ukraine's second city.

Budgetary Negotiations

Britain's leader will confer with partner nations on methods to remove Moscow's energy exports off the global market.

The participants will also examine utilizing blocked Russian resources to provide Ukraine with monetary support, though the plan experienced a lack of political consensus and jurisdictional challenges at the European meeting on the previous day.

European nations declined to agreeing to a proposal to employ as much as €140 billion in blocked Moscow funds to economically support the Ukrainian economy.

Nonetheless, the participants consented to contribute to Ukraine's "budgetary necessities" for the upcoming biennium.

United States also disclosed sanctions on recently against Moscow's major petroleum firms, Rosneft and Lukoil Corporation, as element of actions to apply financial pressure on Moscow to enter peace talks.

Moscow launched its full-scale invasion of Ukrainian territory in early 2022. It currently controls about 20% of Ukrainian territory, encompassing the southern Crimea peninsular Moscow annexed in the year 2014.
